Ion Irimescu
Sculptor
Born: 27 February 1903, in Preotesti, Suceava County
1928 - Obtains his graduation diploma of the Fine Arts School from
Bucharest. Student of Dimitrie Paciurea, about him he later declared: „I made
an idol from my professor, the great and also the modest“… who could have
been „as great as Rodin, if his fate were otherwise established“
1930 - Scholarship for the Romanian School from
Fontenay – aux – Rosse, where he worked together with Joseph Bernard

- Monument Mihail Sadoveanu, Fălticeni
- Monumental Bust of the Great Romanian Diplomat Nicolae Titulescu, former president of the League of Nations, located in Bucharest
- Famous Portraits of Ion Jalea,, Corneliu Baba, G. Oprescu, D. Ghiaţă, T.
Arghezi, Jules Cazaban, Dinu Lipatti, Ion Agârbiceanu, Octav Băncilă, Zeno Vancea
- Drawings: Man's Study, Burden, Singing Maiden, Esquisse, Sad Song etc
- In 1975 he donated an impressive number of sculptures and drawings to the Romanian State, allowing the foundation of a Memorial Museum “Ion
Irimescu” in this town, Falticeni
